Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a submission grappling style which utilises correct technique and leverage, allowing the smaller person to overcome the larger stronger opponent.

The overall goal is to effectively take the fight down to the ground, move into a dominant position which allows for a greater degree of control over an opponents body, then look for the submission, either by way of joint lock or choke.

As the majority of street fights end up in the clinch or on the ground it makes BJJ an essential for self-defence.

These classes end with live drills or sparring (rolling) which allows you to test your skills against a resisting partner, this provides an intense workout developing fitness, strength and mental toughness.
